We especially hoped to see the 12 foot alligator who lives in the canal and also some manatees. There was a pretty large and very noisy bunch of kids around, so we spotted absolutely zero wildlife. He fussed, and fussed, and fussed about that. I know as a homeschooler he is spoiled on getting to enjoy many places with no one else around. At the same time I think it's wonderful he realizes you can really experience the magic of nature if you're quiet.flmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12781812205765728149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4111228953718918006.post-11590082577839081412011-01-05T18:49:48.619-05:002011-01-05T18:49:48.619-05:00So true... It's amazing, too, who you meet up with while the kids are in school. Last year, we went sledding and my kids ended up playing with a bunch of college kids who were (I suspect) ditching class. What's nice is, the college kids were wonderful with my kids, and my kids were totally capable of conversing with them. A highlight of last winter, for sure.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717292870458636020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4111228953718918006.post-69796241764685388832011-01-03T15:17:03.691-05:002011-01-03T15:17:03.691-05:00I have the same experience!
