Odd Magic Words

I know I have magic powers.
I know this because saying one simple phrase tends to throw my whole house into a flurry of activity.
It can make Sierra desperately thirsty.
It can make Chase start picking up toys from the floor of his room.
It can cause Marina to suck us into deep philosophical discussions of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
And they all want to take a shower (we have one bathroom.)
Then Sierra wants piles of books read to her.
Chase begins working on an intricate sculpture of pipe cleaners or wire and Model Magic.
Marina pulls down our copy of Shakespeare's First Folio so that she can read another play in the Bard's own words. (You think I'm kidding. The book weighs more than she does.)
Even the cats start becoming more playful, chasing each other around the house at top speed.
This can last for hours, so I try to make sure I don't use my magic words too late.
And what are these incredible words that send my children into this heightened state of productivity? I'm sure you know. You've likely used them with similar results.

"It's time to go to bed."

ROLF!!!!! :D

Since I'm not home till 12:30am, I no longer have that magic. Worse, if they're still up, I hang out and play with them till they fall sleep. The youngest is always waiting up for me even if dad has put him in bed. He sneaks out once he hears dad snoring so he can tell me all about his evening while I was gone! I'm gonna miss this when he grows into a man.
