Home Spun comic strip #310

Home Spun comic strip #310

Routine for driving with kids:
Check for appropriate clothing. Check for shoes. Check for all necessary books, papers, money, lunch, snacks. Check that seatbelts have been fastened. Check that everyone has used the bathroom. Check for seatbelts again. Go.

Routine for driving without kids:
Seatbelt. Purse. Go.

You can see why it's so hard to go anywhere when the kids aren't with me.

Have you ever been halfway to your destination before you realized you don't have to listen to Sesame Street music when there are no kids in the car?

You missed out the most important step:

Turn the rockin' music up to MAX

Though I must admit it feels so odd having that loud music on that even though I KNOW there are no little ones in the car I have to check, just to make sure I'm not blasting any tender eardrums.

Janet: I've done that with Schoolhouse Rock. :o)

Keeley: Hehe! I'm so rarely in the car alone, sometimes I turn the radio off so I can hear the silence!

I know it's weird - but I actually really like Schoolhouse Rock. =)

Shoes???? Yup! That's our big one as living in Florida doesn't cause the need for shoes.

=) Come visit and get warm! (Sign up for a free day on your birthday at Disney World! It's a good excuse to escape south.)

on the reverse side of this, my husband is so used to just getting in the car and going, last summer he drove over my son's foot .. my son who had just opened the door and wasn't in the car yet. :^P

I am dealing with this sort of, "What am I forgetting here? This is far too easy" more and more often. I think I could get used to it.
