LOVE this, it is so true!
I don't know about you but I am much happier without the gov't funding, because we are accountable to nobody but ourselves what we read. There's so much out there!

I thought the point was, the library IS gov't funding. Its free, provided by the gov't.

My personal feeling is that if you want the gov't to pay for your childrens' education, you should send your children to the school the gov't built for that purpose. I understand that some states do provide funding, tho.

Of course, the library is funded for all. You can choose to use it or not. I use the library because I do not have any other way to "fund" my homeschooling. My tax dollars pay for it, so I take advantage of it! However, many people are under the impression that homeschoolers get *extra* money for homeschooling, which (at least in my state) we don't.

i was seriously jealous when i found out (some?) canadians get gov't money for hs'ing. i would totally take it .. if i didn't have to give them anything in exchange. :)

No funding for hser's in this state either. Our library system is a resource upon which I cannot place a value. I'd be lost without it.

Our library ladies know all of us by name. When I was pg during the summer with Noah Matthew would get my books. They were all over me once I came in with the baby! :)
