Home Spun comic strip #250
I find it hard to avoid looking at the recommendations that pop up when I buy something online. They can be so tempting, especially when they refer to a subject area where I feel weak. I've followed many suggestions that result from ordering books on logic, math, physics, Latin, Spanish, and rhetoric. I'm not an impulsive shopper, mind you. I will read the product information and check reviews. I look to see if our library has a particular book recommendation so that I can preview it. Sometimes it can take me hours to order one math book! Our Amazon customer recommendation list is longer than most of the books I read. And yet every time I hit that "Add to Cart" button, a fresh set of ideas appears before me with the promise of a brighter homeschooling year. Resistance is futile.

Cristina, I just thought you might like to know that I awarded you the Arte Y Pico award over at my blog :) You can choose whether or not you want to accept it, and if you do, the rules and award are yours for the taking at my blog :)
Congratulations!
So glad you are ordering Math books - did you hear about the study that debunks the myth that boys are better at Math and Science than girls?
I almost never look at pop-up recommendations. Maybe because I hate to order anything on line.
See you later. Love, Mom
Eleanor - I agree with that study. I was always better at math and science than Lewy, but Reed was better than both of us. Tina - hopefully your kids all take after Reed. Have a great weekend!
Love, Linda
Yeah, I can definitely catch that bug! lol School stuff is addicting to buy, even if I don't always need it I feel that someday, someone will want it and I better have it.
Books, books, books...never enough books....
Vicki who spent over five hours yesterday reviewing books before the inevitable call then drive to pick up a hard to find edition....Then threw in two more for good measure while still at the book store... (I did good! I only bought three! And just add the others to my wishlist. ;-})
