Home Spun comic strip #254

Home Spun comic strip #254

Every spring and summer, there is a building boom at the base of the trees in our yard. Fairy houses sprout up, made out of nature's castoffs -- sticks and twigs, stones, crinkled leaves, acorn caps, seed fluff, dried stems and grass. Anything will do, really, as long as it isn't alive. Of course, it is hard to enforce that rule and keep the weeds down in your yard at the same time.

Are you sure we can't make the argument that "Weeds are plant zombies and therefore technically not alive??" It wouldn't be a far stretch -- you get one, beforelong you get more.... Just saying..

and then there's the logical response - once you pull the weeds - they're no longer alive. :-) done. *LOL*

Gardening rarely happens around our place. I'd love to add fairy houses but the kitties think every place is for them.

Love the link! Thanks!

What a wasted opportunity, not to use all of this wonderful natural material for fairy houses.
Blessings,

It is such a delight to see these fairy houses in person. Thank you for your creativity and respect for nature. One of your greatest teaching successes that has definitely been passed along to the kids.

Love, Mom

I checked out the link to the fairy houses and this looks like a fun activity that we just might do when the weather cools.

Thanks for the link!
