How I Spent My Week...

Maybe not the whole week, but at least a few days. I present the new and improved "homeschooling desk."

My couch

Look how much the cats admire it! This was an idea I've had for months now. With hubby on "vacation" from work, I took the opportunity to put it all together. He was very supportive of my work, while keeping me grounded with questions like "How are you going to keep the center from bowing?" Ha! Like I would know! (No worries. That second trip to Home Depot provided the necessary support system.) Notice the narrow shelf? That's storage for our exercise mat.

But wait! There's more! Because each side is actually a shelf unit.

My couch (side)

This should provide easy access for my lazy learners! Aren't I clever? Hubby was amazed at how fast I put it all together. So was my body. I ached for two days. But now I have the couch/daybed I've been dreaming of for years!

Oh wow! What a clever idea! I could totally have used one of those growing up. When I have the room to HAVE an actual school room, mind if I steal your idea? It's so ingenious!

I wish you could fly over and set one of those up in our place. What a great way of utilising space!
Back at last after what turned out to be sort of an enforced break. And it was fun to read the last lot of your comic strips I missed.
Blessings,
Paula

Brilliant idea, too...
and you can change the look every time you get tired of it. *L*

Dude, I *love* the shelves in the ends of it. Very clever. Beats the kitchen table any day. Can I come live at your house?

OK I am impressed 1. By the idea and 2. That YOU did it yourself :) Looks great. Wonder if my DH would go for it... ;)

This is fantastic! Is it attached to the wall at the back? This might just be a solution to our poor ripped up sofa that needs to be replaced.
