Home Spun comic strip #264

Home Spun comic strip #264

Glitter? We got it! Glue? Sticks, white and super. Paper? Every size, shape, and color, plain and lined, recycled and reused. I've said before that it is so hard to throw things out since everything has artistic potential. In the backyard, I have been known to set aside pinecones, sticks, and bark as I rake. Marina has made some incredible fairy houses with yard scraps. Chase usually hordes any box that comes through our door. Over the summer he made a cardboard skeleton as tall as himself. Sierra likes the pads and stickers we get in the mail from various animal charities. We even turn food into art supplies. I love art supplies, and I love having kids that appreciate them.

My kids love building fairy houses. We even have a fairy garden

We are also great lovers of art supplies.

Our space is constrained - so I usually don't let G keep all the boxes he wants to keep. Though - a Skeleton would be totally cool.

he's usually first to turn a box into a rocket ship. It's never the same kind of ship, either.

LOL -- I gathered a bag of pinecones last night while Mr Music was at baseball practice. :D

We, too, keep tons of art supplies around. Our problem is trying to keep it all somewhat organized (as in "not-all-over-the-floor" organized).

We also build fairy houses out of whatever we find outside! My kids call it "Survivor Fairy," like the TV show "Survivor Man." They give the fairies everything they would need to survive, like tiny firewood, tiny dishes (acorn caps, leaves), a bed, etc. We do cheat sometimes, and use bottle caps for dishes sometimes. :)

Yup... only I have to keep them AWAY from mine ;) I have a picture on my garden blog of a HUGE fort/house they made for themselves out of pine needles!!

I left a present for you at my blog BTW :)

What a creative way to re-cycle. Remember when it was Leggs' eggs and Pringles cans? I've seen Chase's skeleton and it is really COOOL! I nominate it for your Halloween display this year.
