Long trips were made for books on tape. Especially when you know you might get stuck in Thanksgiving Day traffic. I know there is some debate between whether a book should be read by a storyteller or by a full cast. We've done both. For straight storytelling I prefer Jim Weiss, but I do admit I enjoy my book coming alive with different voices. Bruce Coville's "Full Cast Audio" does a wonderful job at this style of books on tape.

Yeah, we haven't done many at our house. We started out with Winnie the Pooh, which my girls did like. Emily didn't want me to stop the car. But now they are into Christmas music and I think they would be very upset to listen to a book right now. Even Lindsey who isn't quite 2 has an opinion on which Christmas song to listen too. ;)
