Home Spun comic strip #315

Home Spun comic strip #315

I'm still deciding what to name the comic strip kitten. Someone keeps suggesting Strudel. Give me a week or two to think about it. I like Crumbs or maybe Popover. I think Crumbs would go well with Toaster. Or I may pick something completely different. The idea behind Toaster's name is that he always pops up.

This week, I've had some comments that mention how the names they picked fit their pets. I agree with that. If I knew Hobgoblin would be chewing the corners of my hardcover books, I would never have picked that name. Maybe something that bites less, like Gummybear, would have been a better choice. Dusty constantly lives up to her name. She raises dust and rolls in it. We used to have a hamster named Wookie that would shriek if you tried to pick her up. My mother had a cat named Snappy that was...snappish.

It's always best to pick those names carefully. Just in case.

The Cat only grinned when it saw Alice. It looked good-natured, she thought; still it had very long claws and a great many teeth, so she felt that it ought to be treated with respect.

"Cheshire Puss," she began, rather timidly, as she did not at all know whether it would like the name; however, it only grinned a little wider.

Food names make me think of food *grin*
Maybe it can be Houdini because it keeps disappearing ;)
Or 'Miss Kitty' because no-one decided LOL
Or Pooh- after Winnie-the-Pooh...

I like food names for pets. Your reason for naming Toaster is great. In Beverley Cleary's Ramona books, the cat is called Picky-Picky and behaves accordingly.
I loved your last post about winter burn-out. Ironic considering our current weather patterns over here. Maybe New York and Adelaide should be the real poles. I'm often lazy about such things as reprogramming the Wii data to suit the Southern Hemisphere but you're right, I'd far rather hear it tell me to have a cold drink!
BTW one of my favourite categories on that Wii Fit is Yoga but I guess the poses are fairly basic compared to some like the ones in your photo. Is that your teacher?
Blessings,
Paula

appleleaf: There are pictures of my instructor on the link. The poser below is none other than Marina.
But since I learn a lot from her, as well, it seems appropriate to call her my teacher! :o)
