Home Spun comic strip #389

Home Spun comic strip #389

We are very fortunate to have nice librarians. Each of my children has left their mark on a library book around the age of two or three. When you take out books as much as we do, you come to realize your chances of having to reimburse the library are very high. I don't mind, considering how much I save from borrowing books rather than buying them. Each time I've replaced the ruined book, except for the one that was out of print. I never could find a copy of it.

I SO know that feeling! I also love the comic about wondering what the kids are up to when it's quiet. Thanks for reminding me that we are all in this boat together...nothing new under the sun! Have a wonderful day!

I don't mind paying late fees either because take out so many books that we would never be able to enjoy without the library. I just wish they were tax deductable! I tried one year telling our tax person that they were late fees on educational books but he didn't go for it.

We use to use the library all the time but then Mr. Bookworm became possessive and he loves re-reading them and studying them time and time again so now the library is in my living room. =)

Your house, too??

We have to have tape because invariably a page will rip.

Okay, now I don't feel SO bad...I was feeling like a terrible citizen as I again called the library to report ANOTHER lost, or, most probably lost, book! Aurgh! Where do they go? We also have had scribblers and rippers. Our coolest story? once, we lost a "Bearnstain Bears" DVD. I even somehwat accused a friend of losing it in HER house! 2 years later, our DVD player suddenly fizzled out. TallDad took it apart to see what was up, and we found not only the library DVD, but also 2 OTHERS, WITHIN THE MACHINE! No wonder it wasn't working anymore....that rocked.
I look forward to checking out the article about 'nature making us nice', too -- that's really cool!
