Home Spun comic strip #414

Home Spun comic strip #414

I know I am very lucky that Chase looks up to his big sister. She has convinced him to read way more books and series than I have. Now that she works in the library, I think his reading has improved by leaps and bounds.

Frankly, I think we're all reading more now.

This happens at my house too; older sibling teaching younger, Ben reads aloud to Matty and Kari.

Does your library wave employee fines? Mind did when I was a page, it boosted my parents reading too: I also got first dibs on new acquisitions. To this day I get favored treatment, though I think all the homeschoolers are treated kindly at our library. We even get asked for ideas for new book purchases.

Libraries: I love them as much as I love coffee.

LOL! I love them as much as coffee, too!

Our library does wave fines on Marina's card. Sometimes they waive fines on mine as well, because they know I'm her mom, but I don't mind paying the fines considering how much I save by using the library.

Actually, big sisters are AWESOME for giving younger siblings parental advice that the younger siblings couldn't handle hearing from their parents.

YAY for older siblings!!! =)

Hi there! I seem to go for long periods of time between visiting anyone, so I am left with lots of comments. Here goes ...

I'm so glad you had such a good Monday! The DMV was a nightmare for us when I was growing up in So. Cal. Here in our little OR town, however, it goes a lot faster. Good for you for getting out of there so quickly! Those spots in the sky, we believe, were what are called sun dogs. We have seen them here and feel fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. One of God's special delights, I think, don't you?

My kids, Alec & Carmen, were fascinated with your edible theatre! Carmen wanted to eat it! How creative you and your kids are! Alec is especially taken with your cartoons. He is very good at drawing, however, he has trouble drawing people realistically. His comment was, "How does she draw people so well?" Any pointers? Do you recommend any drawing program that would help with drawing humans realistically? How long have you been drawing? Of course, you have time to answer all these questions, right?

Always enjoy your posts. Have a terrific weekend!
-Kate

Just realized that all the comments I left on your past week's blogs were not published! To summarize, Way to go, Marina, Chase and Tina! Flame is beautiful and must have got her extra white from Flare. Great pix! I learn a lot from your blogs; now I know what a Sun Dog is. Thank you! Love, Mom
