Home Spun reprints #167-9: Christmas Baking 2007

There is so much math to be learned from baking! Measuring and doubling ingredients, counting cookies one by one and tray by tray, estimating baking times and recipe yields, dividing cookies among tins and children, and lots of subtraction. I have four rolls of dough waiting to be rolled out. Soon the baking will begin!

Haha, yes, I like this and know what you're talking about. Emma has a passion for cooking at the moment and I can't count the number of times she's come and asked something like, "Three over four is three quarters, isn't it?"
But how good are you at getting your cooks to clean up after themselves because I'm not.

Toby (strip #2) is a kid after my own heart! I definitely would have stopped to that kind of deviousness. ;-)

appleleaf: Clean up? But they cooked! ;o) No, I haven't yet gotten them to understand that clean up is part of the process!

Stephanie: At the time, I wasn't sure if I should be annoyed or proud that he figured out how to get more. :oD

I love it when you reprint the oldies. I got a chuckle at Toby breaking the cookies. Love, Mom
