You know I'm getting run down when I mix up my measuring cups. I was trying to make one and a half recipes of cake for my son's request, but accidentally measured the dry ingredients using the half and full cups rather than the third and half cups. Luckily, I caught myself before I added the wet ingredients, but since I didn't want to start over (and possibly run out of ingredients) I decided to wing it and did some fancy proportioning. The result was a richer, moister cake than my typical buttermilk chocolate cake. No one complained. We also have a lot of leftover cake.
Chase told me on Wednesday that he wanted a cake based on League of Legends character Warwick. Having no idea who Warwick was, he showed me a picture and explained his vision of Warwick eating a cupcake. Because I thought I was going to be making a Minecraft cake, this was a bit of a surprise. After all, I was going from the thought of simply stacking boxes to a complex character. I sat down for a bit to think it out. This was the result:
I think it came out well. I asked if it was OK if I called it a Big Bad Wolf cake. He said that was fine. And it was nice to make something special that he really wanted. You don't turn sixteen every day.

Happy 16th Birthday! My First Born Grandson. Let your biritone deep voice delight those around you. I enjoyed seen you move up to 16. That's old enough for the next few years. Enjoy the adventures of life.
I love you,
Buelo
That is so cool!! I didn't know who Warwick was either but Logan and Blake enlightened me. Now they're telling me I need to make a Master Yi cake for Logan's next birthday so you've started something. Happy 16th to Chase. Great age.
This cake was as delicious as it was whimsical. Loved being with all of you on Chase's 16th. Happy Birthday again Chase. Tina, your error was a great opportunity to hone your math skills. Or, in this case, to create a new recipe! Whatever, it worked! Love, Mom
Paula: I had to have my kids enighten me about who Master Yi is! They said he wears lots of goggles. Maybe you could slice cupcakes or mini cupcakes to make goggles? I've complicated your life, haven't I? :o)
I don't know the character, but the cake is cool!
Such gratuitous awesomeness!! :-)
Thank you, Kez and Stephanie, I'm glad you like it!
WOW! Your creativity when it comes to cakes always blows me away. Happy Belated Birthday, Chase!
