For Mother's Day, I made this pendant for my mother:
I
really tried to make it meaningful. The top bead represents my mom. It
isn't a perfect bead because my own experience as a mother is that you
never really feel like you are perfect, you just try to do the best you
can, but the bead is still beautiful. The three round beads represent
her three children. Under them are six more smaller glass beads,
representing all of her grandchildren. I added the flower charm at the
bottom to balance the piece. Not everything is a symbol.

What a beautiful, thoughtful necklace! I hope you had a really happy Mother's Day. :)
You are amazing! First, I wanted to thank you for your thoughtful comment on my last post (I can't believe it was Feb. 2015!) This last 12 months or so have gone by in a blur. Last year was so awful, so many difficult things happened. Anyway, if I didn't thank you then, I'm thankin you now! So, anyway, I've been reading your last few posts and, your cakes are always so awesome! I recently bought myself a Cheshire cat coffee mug. The cat disappears when I add hot liquid, leaving just the grin. Your cake made me think of the mug. So creative! Fun to see your dad, and I love the pendant you made your mom. Wish her a belated Happy Mother's Day for me! Now, your eldest ... she's beautiful! So proud of her and what she's accomplished. Can't believe she'll be graduating (I remember when she chose that school!) I have prayed for her over the years and will pray for her next step. Your son is just as unique as ever (love the costume) and your youngest has certainly grown (they do that, don't they?) Even though I don't blog like I used to (maybe this summer I can do something about that) I still think of you and your family, and we still quote from your book. Is your second coming out anytime soon? Take care and I will visit again soon (I mean it!) Your friend - Kate
Oh Kate, I'm so sorry you had such a difficult year. I hope things are looking up for your family and you have more time for you this year. Feel free to email me at jugglingpaynes(at)optonline.net if you want to talk. Sending prayers right back to you and yours!
Thank you, you are such a dear! It dawned on me this morning that I didn't wish YOU a belated Happy Mother's Day! After reading my comment above, I think I should reconsider my usage of parentheses!! Hugs - Kate
Thank you, Thank you. The necklace is even lovelier in person. I love the way the light hits the top stone and makes it shine. I think that's symbolic too! Thank you for your love and appreciation - it means more to me as time speeds by. When I see what a wonderful Mom you are, that is a gift to me. I love being your Mom! Love always, Mom
