The Conclusion of FBorFW

I'm very teary eyed right now. I just read the last weekly comic strip from Lynn Johnston's For Better or For Worse. What a wonderful way to end her story, with the Grandpa's wife Iris offering advice to Elizabeth and Anthony as they start their life together. Emotions are overflowing in me. I grew up with For Better or For Worse. It has been my inspiration as I set out to write my own adventures in life. I felt like I was saying goodbye to old friends.

The good news is that For Better or For Worse will continue, starting at the beginning. Lynn Johnston is going to start again, tweaking old comic strips (because we artists can't leave anything alone), improving her early work and giving her more time for herself. I was happy to hear this. It will give my children the opportunity to enjoy the strip from the beginning and it will give me the opportunity to enjoy it from a parent's perspective.

You can read her letter to readers on her website. Thank you Lynn Johnston, for the laughter and the tears, for the inspiration, and for making your characters so real that I will miss them dearly.

I couldn't agree more JP! I read For Better or for Worse every morning when I get into work and I have to admit, it has led to more than a few tears first thing!
