Just in case you missed the theme for this week, it's stealth learning. And it still works best in this house. Plus there's the added bonus that I learn a few things. Just the other day, I learned how the Babylonians operated their indoor plumbing. Pretty sophisticated! You had a pitcher of water that you poured down a hole in the floor to "flush" the waste away. I think the things you learn by "stealth" or by accident are what stays with you. Right now I am "back in school" trying to learn enough to give a tour at the Garden. Can you help me to learn what a biome is thru stealth? Love, Mom
I actually have a book on our shelf titled "What is a Biome?" by Bobbie Kalman! I will lend it to you when I see you!
You always find the most interesting books! I will have to see if our library system has this one.
Every time my kids get into Mad Libs (we have about a dozen) I can't help but feel smug. They know more about adverbs than I do, mainly due to these silly questionnaires. And, yes, I never knew just how much I would learn myself due to homeschooling. Enjoy your weekend! - Kate
Mad Libs have been terrific in teaching my kids adverbs and such. It makes me happy every time I hear them laughing over their silly sentences because I know they have learned so much without really trying. It's taught me as well.
Enjoy your weekend - Kate
