We spent the weekend preparing for the monster storm that will eat Halloween. The winds should arrive this morning. Luckily, Marina's Monday classes have been canceled so I can spend the quiet of the morning finishing up my strip and posting it, assuming I don't lose power from the winds.
Funny thing is, I wouldn't mind losing power. Sure, there are inconveniences that come with it. But it also means I have an excuse to unplug and enjoy my simpler pleasures, like reading, drawing, and baking. I'm thankful I'm not dependent on my electronics to keep me busy. Because I will need something to keep my mind off of the blowing winds. High winds are a major fear for me, and keeping my mind busy is how I cope. I expect to be very busy for the next couple of days.
But first I'll try to get that comic strip up.
Just think, last week, our weather looked like this:

What a gorgeous photo! With or without power, I hope you all stay safe and dry during the storm.
Thanks, Stephanie, we will do our best!
Wow, that looks beautiful! Sounds like your storm will be a monster, if it's spread over a couple of days. Take time to do those creative things you mentioned, whether or not it's heavy :)
We've had weird weather too. It's warming up nicely now but a couple of weeks ago we even had a smattering of snow, something rare as hen's teeth in South Australia.
Blessings,
Paula
It's not very often we get to share the same weather systems! Thinking of the storm prep we were advised to do and how empty the shelves here were, I can only imagine how prepared you all need to be. Hope you and yours are safe and dry. Comics will come as comics can...

I know what you mean! I ended up disappointed to not lose power. I had a big stack of comics I planned to read. I still read them, but it wasn't as much fun. :)
Funny reading this 2 weeks after. You think you won't miss power but don't realize how dependent you are on it and how many other systems depend on it. But you made it through the storm! I, the chicken who escaped to California, salute you. Love you! Mom
