When I was homeschooled -- and in different grades in different subjects -- we finally got tired of explaining it and just told askers that I was in the same grade as those in public school for my age.
I love that comic. I cannot imagine not knowing what grade I was in when I was "in" school. But homeschooling is so different. Last year when my son "started" kindergarten and was asked what grade he was in. He would say 1st grade for math and kindergarten for phonics. It's too cool.
People in my family never remember those sort of things. It's something that makes me not fit in since I remember things like that and dates of events so well. They call me the walking day planner. ;)
LOL! I am always forgetting this too, but ds1 remembers it well probably because they go by grade instead of age at church when dividing the kids into classes.
How about this answer for all homeschool students: They all are in the top grade for their age achieving at 100% of their talents and always getting better. Isn't that where they are and how they do? I thought fo adding my educational philosophy to your mix. Love, Dad/Buelo

Even though -- I graduated a year early. :-p
We just use the grade our son is in at church. Makes it easier to get along! I love your strip and thank you for brighting my days.

Great comic! I don't really consider my kids in a "grade" -- but I have to come up with something so I know which standardized tests to order. *LOL*
